‘Fabricated metal products’ was listed amongst 17 manufacturing sectors which reported growth in July. Only 1 of the 18 industries surveyed reported contraction and that was wood products.
This is reflected by Dymond Engineering, where the fabrication of bespoke metalwork is definitely picking up on last year.
The overall growth in UK manufacturing of 1.8% in July means 14 months of consecutive growth, whilst employment has seen growth for 13 consecutive months. Whilst this is a positive position, international political situations are a cause for concern.
