With the development of Hinkley C due to begin in the next 2 to 3 years, manufacturers here in Devon, Somerset and the South West are being encouraged to find out more about joining the nuclear supply chain. Indeed Dymond Engineering is already working towards assessment for engineering and fabricating metal components and parts for the utilities surrounding nuclear decommissioning and the new Hinkely C development.
A couple of useful events are taking place later this month.
On 24th March MAS and NAMRC are hosting an event at Plymouth Science Park to raise awareness of the main routes into supplying the nuclear industry as well as an opportunity to hear from a company that is currently undertaking the NAMRC assessment.
And on 24th March the Hinkley Supply Chain team from Somerset Chamber of Commerce is holding a workshop titled ‘Triple Bar for Nuclear Manufacturing’. This event is by invitation only and is an introduction into the expectations of the nuclear industry.
Both promise to be really useful and informative events for local South West manufacturing companies interested in supplying Hinkley. Dymond Engineering will be attending both events as part of our journey into engineering and fabricating metal components and parts for the wider utilities around decommissioning and Hinkely C. We’ll let you know how they go.
